ADHD Assessment
ADHD Assessment
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by difficulties with concentration, attention and impulse control that can impact a person’s day-to-day life. The disorder affects both children and adults, though symptoms appear in childhood and often persist through adolescence and adulthood.
ADHD is the most prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder in Australia, affecting 1 in every 20 children. In Australia, ADHD is currently underdiagnosed, particularly in girls and the adult population.
Are you or a loved one experiencing challenges with attention, impulsivity, or hyperactivity?
The ADHD assessment can help you gain clarity and understanding of your symptoms and their impact on your daily functioning. Clinical diagnosis of ADHD involves multimodal assessment, including a full clinical and psychosocial evaluation, a detailed developmental, medical and psychiatric history, and consideration of other evidence (e.g., previous records, rating scales, and mental state).
Our ADHD assessments are for children aged 3 to 16 years and 11 months.

- 2-3 hours ADHD Assessment Session with the Child and the Psychologist.
- Psychologist Scores the Assessment and Write their Report.
- 1 hour Feedback Session to Deliver Report (parents only)
Appointments will be scheduled over a 6-8 week period.
Please Note:
Please be aware that a paediatrician or psychiatrist may wish to engage in their own ADHD assessment process in addition to psychological assessment to provide medication.
ADHD assessments are not covered by the Medicare Better Access Scheme, so Medicare rebates are not available for this service. Consequently, parents do not need a referral from an external practitioner to access this service. However, for children, we prefer a letter from GP or teacher outlining concerns and/or reasons for assessment.
